Our experience: Is the Jardin des Tuileries worth a visit?

During our city trip to Paris we paid a visit to the Jardin des Tuileries and we can tell you right away: it is absolutely worth it. We found a spot by the big fountain, grabbed a coffee and a croissant from a bakery around the corner and enjoyed the view of the wide avenues and works of art in the park. All around us, people were reading, chatting or just enjoying the sunshine.

What struck us is how neat and quiet the park is, despite its central location. It really was a nice place to relax and soak up the atmosphere of Paris. For us, a visit to the Jardin des Tuileries is a perfect ending to a museum visit or a walk around the city.

One small downside: it can get pretty crowded in the summer, especially around the fountain and fairgrounds. But fortunately, the park is large enough that you can always find a quiet spot.
